Well, I just arrived back from the Gala.

It was quite splendid indeed.

Those of you who didn't come were missing out on a lot. Including a baritone with a voice from the gods and face and body to match it.

I sang, I listened, I conquered.

'Twas very wonderful.

Tomorrow I must conquer the homework aspect of things which includes, mad practicing of the vocal chords for the upcoming recording, insane filling out of scholarship/teacher reccomendation/college applications and of course there will be eating in between. Hopefully, if there is time. So wish me luck as I dive head first into the depths of paperwork hell.

You know what I honestly don't get?

How teachers can hand you a packet with 200 rules pertaining to grammar and then expect you to memorize them for a test the next day.

Then how can teachers (in other classes that is) tell you that you have a major test on "stuff"? Yes, "stuff" anything and everything that we've learned so far. Ok, that's great. Could you please tell me what to study?

On another note, I know most of you will not be able to attend this, being as you do not live with in the Northern Colorado area. However, I just wanted to let you know that Loveland Opera Theater (the group that I'm involved with) is having an enormous Gala this Saturday, Sept. 9th at the Rialto Theater. There are several nationally renowned Opera Singers who are performing several arias and then the singers of LOT (that would be me) are acting out the party scene of Die Fledermaus. There will me a silent auction starting at 6:30 PM and the show starts at 7:00. Call the Rialto for tickets; they cost $25.00, $30.00 at the door. And if you can, please, PLEASE come! Support your local arts community!

Well I just had a lovely time at Kaija's house! Old movies = wonderful.

Additonally, I've had something of an epiphany lately. Kaija and I were talking and I think I've decided that instead of having Music Education as a backup plan if my performance stuff fails, I'm going to go into Music Therapy.

You see what I'm now planning to do is to go to UPS and get a music performance degree and then come back and get a graduate degree at CSU in Music Therapy. Then I will move to England where I will find a job with my fantastic musical therapy skills while at the same time trying out for operas and musicals and the such. So you see I get a steady income doing something I love and still get to perform. It all works out.

Well, that's the plan for now. Things could definatly change, but I like knowing that for now there is a plan.

Yesterday was a rather enjoyable day I'd say.

I'm writing this fascinating essay in English, I'll post it once it's done.

We Kaija, a few friends and I had a game night at Cody's last night. It was quite a lot of fun except I got mad at Austin and yelled at Kaija which I didn't mean to. Kaija, still feel really awful about that by the way. We played Twister, Cranium, Spoons, and Life. I was winning at Life (tee hee hee...get it winning at life? Alright...fine) But then I had to go because apparently I now have curfew. 11 freaking o'clock at night on a Friday night. I'm trying desperatly to negotiate it with my mother but she is one of the most stubborn women in the world.

Anyway, I'm off to an Opera rehersal. Ta!
